Press reviews of Requiem at Lake Como:

“The beautiful backdrop of Lake Como, and the cast of likeable (and not so likeable) characters make this crime novel a truly enjoyable and exciting read.” Karin Skrzypczak, DELMENHORSTER KREISBLATT

“A wonderful setting – and the author makes us feel as if we are right there. A tremendously exciting and suspenseful read that leaves nothing to be desired. I highly recommend it.” Horst Tress, MAGAZIN KÖLLEFORNIA

“The crime scene: Lake Como in scenic Lombardy. And on the case is an at-tractive police inspector named Giulia Cesare, who has rather unconventional methods when it comes to solving crimes.” BUCHMARKT

All that glitters is not gold at Lake Como

Leopoldo Campetti, the waiter at the popular local restaurant, is found dead. The coroner records death by drowning – and finds two diamonds in the victim’s stomach. It turns out that the stones are from a missing necklace belonging to Clara Petacci, Benito Mussolini’s long-time mistress. She was captured by partisans at Lake Como in April 1945, together with the Duce, and ultimately assassinated. How did the penniless waiter come by the diamonds? And why did the murderer clearly go to some trouble to cover up the dead man’s body?
Their investigation leads Giulia Cesare and her friend Brutus not only to the answer to the mystery, but on a journey into Italy’s dark past…
