The Book

Or how the son of a baroque paper magnate saved the firm during the first World War with his sober understanding for numbers. He recalls when the tradition of ascendency of the industrialists' first born was threatened by the next war, and an industrialist who was infatuated with the muses. He recalls a woman who brought about a provisional rescue.
