JUDITH KUCKART
DER BIBLIOTHEKAR / THE LIBRARIAN

A Novel
250 pages

The story of an obessed love until death: Hans-Ulrich Kolbe is a librarian in his early fifties. For decades he had been hiding in his world of books, he already “smells out of the mouth of books”. Now he wants to change his life: He drifts through night clubs and finds Jelena, who has the same age as his daughter. The strawberry-blond striptease dancer realizes that at the age of 28 also her career will be heading to an end shortly. The two of them find each other – an amour fou based on contraries.

Judith Kuckart describes with rare intensity and authenticity how the two of them fall for each other - up to obsession- , but still remain lonely. The story of an impossible love.
